I read a lot of romance books. Probably 3-4 a week. The synopsis looked great and what convinced me to buy the book was the 2 five star reviews. Not sure if the reviews were from friends/family of the author.
This book was awful. The heroine was super negative and the chemistry just wasn't there. I found myself skimming the last few chapters because I didn't care much about the characters. I rarely if ever leave reviews but I felt compelled to so that I can spare a fellow reader from purchasing this horrible book.

Intense romantic story!

I love intense romances! The Last Shot, by Sara Hubbard, is a sexy, can' t put down romance novel of second chance!
It tells the touching story of broken souls in search of love. Her characters Annie and Ethan, have flaws, which makes this story more realistic! Annie, a nurse, always loved Ethan, since they were teenagers, but their relationship became too intense for her, so she decided to let him live his own dream of becoming a famous hockey player. They both came from broken families and had suffered so much. But destiny, will bring them together, when Ethan's brother, Manny, is injured and brought to the hospital where Annie is working. When they meet again, old feelings come back, which becomes a love/hate relationship. Ethan, loves her so much, that he will do anything to win her heart and get her back, but he is an impulsive emotional guy. After a three years separation, lots of emotions overwhelm them! Also, their family relationship is very complicated. Do they still share the same feeling for each others? Will she give him a second chance? Will his brother Manny, intervene to get those two stubborn lovers, back together? Just, go and grab this one when it comes out, you won't be disappointed!
Ms. Hubbard wrote a well written, fast-paced, sexy and romantic story of second chance. You don’t need to be hockey fan, to love “The Last Shot”, just a romantic soul!

Don't waste your money

This book was horrible. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The main characters were boring, you didn't really learn much about Annie's past. The bad guy Charlie could have been played up so much more than they did. Then the relationship between Annie and Ethan was just boring. He showed up, they said they missed each other and bam they were back together. It was stupid and not worth the money.
